Bagan is an ancient city in central Myanmar southwest of Mandalay and is looking for you to live and work in the city in 2018.
Standing on the eastern banks of the Ayeyarwady River it’s known for the Bagan Archaeological Area where more than 2,000 Buddhist monuments tower over green plains.
Holy sites around Old Bagan include ornate Ananda Temple built in 1091 and topped with a golden stupa. Nearby is the vast 12th century Dhamayangyi Temple.
Bagan economy is based mainly on tourism, however the Bagan regions tourism infrastructure is still quite modest by international standards. The city has a number of international hotels and many family run guest houses.
Bagan is the centre of Myanmar’s lacquerware industry which is traded into shops in Yangon and Mandalay and to world markets.
As Myanmar itself has seen huge economic growth Bagan has benefited from this growth and the roll out of new infrastructure with Telecoms providing significant jobs growth.
Of course it is in the Hospitality sector that jobs are plentiful with big demand for Chefs, Receptionists, Food & Beverage managers and hotel managers.
